Abstract

This research proposes a spatial development framework to elevate Kanchanaburi’s creative economy toward becoming a sustainable global model city for green tourism. Data were collected from tourism operators, product distributors, and community enterprises (75 respondents each group, total 225) using content analysis. Findings emphasize the need for comprehensive analysis of tourism resources and infrastructure, balancing economic development with environmental conservation, empowering local communities, developing unique green products and services, strengthening inter-agency cooperation, and investing in sustainable infrastructure and financing. The framework prioritizes resource conservation, human capacity building, and phased implementation (short-, medium-, and long-term). Success depends on multi-stakeholder collaboration, supportive policies, financial incentives, and community participation. The approach aligns with Thailand’s National Tourism Strategy (2018–2037), the Kanchanaburi Provincial Development Plan (2023–2027), and the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly Goal 10 on reducing inequalities. Digital integration and branding are highlighted as key to accessing international markets and enhancing competitiveness.
